Multi monitor issue

description

Hi!

I installed Flickr .net screensaver on my dual monitor PC.
If I preview the screensaver (in the ScreenSaver setting dialog window) everything is OK.

During the normal working, only one of the 2 monitors is normally visualizing the photos, while, on the other, there's the following message...
"The application has performed an exception. Please report to Sam... The operation has Timed out"

Namely, that's what's going on:
The screen saver is started; On monitor A, a black picture with the Flickr mark is visualized while on monitor B the normal desktop is visualized
Then, after the timeout I set in the settings dialog, on monitor A, a good picture is visualized as expected while, on monitor B, the error message is visualized (see attached picture).
The screensaver continues to work as expected on monitor A; if I press buttons, moves the mouse, etc... the screensaver goes on working on monitor A.
The screensaver stops only when I press the OK button on the error message dialog.

Thanks!
Bye!
Ivan

Quite hard for me to test as I don't have a multiple monitor system to test it on unfortunately.

Can you think of any reason why the request to Flickr would timeout? Do you have a proxy server or firewall?

I have a proxy (I'm in the network of my company) and also a personal firewall (comodo).
I must say that, yesterday, the problem disappeared and today re-appeared...
and moreover, today, the problem is present also when I preview the screensaver.
Due to the fact that the problem appears and disappears maybe it's just a matter of slow communication with Flickr servers.
What do you think about?
Additional question: Which is the support for multimonitors?

Thanks!
Ivan

It sounds likely. Basically the code creates one form per monitor, and each form should act completely independently.

I have a laptop at work with external monitor - I might try to set it up as a dual monitor, but if it is a proxy/firewall issue at your end then not sure what I can do. I'll review the code to see if there is anything in there that might help.
